The Hammarlund single conversion receivers like the HQ 129 will not usually drift much at all once warmed up properly as long as they are serviced, The HQ-129X was one of his first radios (if not the first). I had an HQ-180 as my goal, but when the opportunity presented itself to purchase an HQ-129-X at Radiofest 2019 (Addison, Illinois) for what I thought was a very reasonable price, I did not hesitate. Dave is correct, the capacitors in the HQ-129X transformers are conventional instead of the problematic open leaf design used for a time in some of the later Hammarlund sets.
